MoBikeFed comment: Washington already has a nice riverfront trail, but with planned expansion, the trail could become a real gem. The trail has the potential to be connected with both the Katy Trail and the Rock Island Trail, and part of it may even serve as part of the connecting link between those two trails. After being turned down for one grant, the Washington Parks Department is pursuing another to construct the new western portion of the riverfront trail.
With the new Washington Missouri River Bridge including and excellent bicycle/pedestrian link across the river, Washington is poised to become a real trails nexus of the state.
