While strolling down the trail, people can see what Snyder considers "one of the most scenic parts of Columbia" including a valley, bluffs and a rock-bottom creek with gravel bars that kids can play on.

Planning for the $1.6 million project dates to 2013.

The 1.75-mile concrete trail follows Grindstone Creek and connects the Grindstone Nature Area to Maguire Boulevard on the east side of U.S. 63.
