Bring Your Bicycle Onboard

Part of the joy of a journey by train is the ability to explore the stops along the way, and what better way to do that than by bike? If you'd like to ride our rails with your bike, we offer a number of different services to transport your bike onboard. Each train has different equipment and loading procedures that dictate what service will be offered. The capabilites of your origin and destination station also determine how bikes are handled, so check out all the details here before you book your trip.

MoBikeFed comment: Working towards nationwide standard roll-on bicycle service for all Amtrak routes has been one of the many projects we have worked with our peer organizations across the country on.

Roll-on bicycle service has been added to new routes recently and has been gradually improving over the years.

We are very pleased that the bicycle roll-on service on the Missouri River Runner--which parallels the Katy Trail for much of its route--is one of the longest-running bicycle roll-on routes in the Amtrak system.

Service on the Missouri River Runner started in the 1990s when MoBikeFed leaders approached Missouri state legislators about the the possibility.
