The Johnson County Trail Coalition was formed in July 2012 with the goal of exploring alternative transportation opportunities County-wide (Exhibit 1). – The coalition is made-up of individuals from the City of Warrensburg, University of Central Missouri (UCM), Whiteman AFB, Knob Noster State Park and Johnson county Commission (i.e. Bill Gabel, Presiding Commissioner; Paula Hopkins, Warrensburg Administer; Mike Racy, UCM Strategic Planner; Dan Files, Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources; Brig. Gen. Tom Bussiere, Cmdr. 509th Bomb Wing). The first focus for the Coalition is the seven-mile multi-modal link from the City of Warrensburg east to Knob Noster, Knob Noster State Park and Whiteman Air Force Base.
