Thank you, generous members & donors! We exceeded our $30,000 triple match fundraising goal!
This spring and summer we have been working to complete a $30,000 triple fundraising match challenge.
The William A. Kerr Foundation led one group of generous who pledged $30,000 if our members coulid match it.
Pat Jones, widow of Katy Trail Founder Ted Jones, led another generous group of donors who also pledged $30,000 in matches.
And then we asked our general membership to meet that match.
And thanks to many, many generous gifts and membership renewals--many just $5, $10, $25, and other small amounts--we have reached and exceeded our challenge!
When we officially took down the Challenge banners from the web site and closed the challenge, we had reached over $31,000 in member contributions.
Those donation and membership contributions help to pay the bills for one of our most successful years in Jefferson City ever:
- Further progress on moving forward with the Rock Island Trail
- Stopping legislation that threatened to allow ATVS on the Katy Trail
- Stopping legislation that would have required bicyclists to carry 15 foot "safety" flags
- Helping support the first-ever Missouri state transportation funding that is open for use on pedestrian, bicycle, and transit projects (the "Missouri Moves" funding)
- Building support for state funding for other crucial bicycle, pedestrian, and trails project such as the Sedalia Katy Trail gap, the Spirit Trail, and the Rock Island Trail
Many thanks to all of our many members and supporters who have contributed to this important campaign. You put us over the top, and we really appreciate it!
