Man charged in hit-and-run crash that killed Springfield bicyclist | News-Leader

A man was charged this week in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash this summer in Springfield.

Yuwel Edwards, 23, was charged Tuesday with leaving the scene of an accident, a Class D felony, in connection with a June crash that resulted in the death of 28-year-old Jesse Beach.

According to a probable cause statement, Edwards hit Beach just after 11 p.m. on June 10 when Beach was riding his bicycle near the campus of Baptist Bible College on Kearney Street.

Beach later died at the hospital.
