Plans for St. Louis's "Trestle Trail" | St. Louis Public Radio

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

Josie McDonald is “always looking for new walk-able and bike-able destinations in the city.” She says she fell in love with St. Louis because of its road and bike path bike-ability.

But something’s been weighing on her mind for a while: a bike path she just can’t bike. It goes by the name of “The Trestle” and you may have seen it as you drive on I-70 north of downtown St. Louis. So, she asked Curious Louis to solve the mystery for her — so we have.

On Tuesday’s St. Louis on the Air, we’ll hear from Seth Treptow, communications manager at Great Rivers Greenway, about the history and future of the project. We’ll also hear what other developments Great Rivers Greenway has up its sleeve coming in 2017.

MoBikeFed comment: Great Rivers Greenway acquired the Trestle in 2005:

A portion of the trestle opened in 2008. It used as part of the connector trail to the McKinley Bridge:
