Missouri city Complete Streets planning grant due date extended to April 8th, 2020
The due date has been extended for an upcoming grant opportunity for cities and agencies who want to start working towards adopting a Complete Streets policy, a citywide bike/ped master plan, or multimodal design guidelines.
The grant deadline was March 23rd. It has been extended to April 8th.
The grant is for $10,000.
It is a planning grant, and the end product by September 28th, 2020, will be a plan and timeline for how to move forward for their community to adopt a Complete Streets Policy, a bike/ped master plan, and/or multimodal design guidelines.
The outcome of this grant will not be completion of any of those policies--but rather, it will be a plan and timeline outlining how to move forward towards adoption of those plans and policies. This is a good first step for communities who want to move towards more of a Complete Streets approach.
The grant can be used, for example, to hire a consultant to organize meetings, talk to stakeholders, draft the strategic plan and timeline, and in short, to do most of the heavy lifting to draft and develop the plan and timeline.
The grant is open to Missouri cities, and to public health agencies representing those cities, of any size.
Complete Streets Planning, application due March 23rd April 8th, funding April 2020
Grant #1 is for communities that want to develop a Complete Streets action plan between now and September 28, 2020.
The Action Plan is a work plan and timeline for moving forward with adopting a Complete Streets policy in the community, a bike/ped master plan, and/or multimodal design guidelines.
The community will not develop all those between now and September 28th. Rather, they will develop a plan and timeline for doing so.
The grant includes one in-person training and funding for hiring consultans to facilitate developing the Action Plan, holding meetings to work on the plan, and so on.
That grant amounts are $10,000 and may be used for expenses such as hiring consultants and subcontracts to facilitate the Action Plan, holding meetings, and travel.
