Free Kansas City Bicycle Maintenance Clinic: Keep your bike running!

How do I get my gears to shift more smoothly?  Should my chain be this dirty? What the heck is a barrel adjuster?

If these are questions you think you'd like to know the answers to, then Maintain Your Ride is a free clinic that may be right up your bike lane.  Maintain Your Ride is a bicycle maintenance class for anyone wanting to gain a slightly better understanding of how a bike works and how to keep it running properly.

The class is at 10:00 AM on January 22nd at the Westport-Roanoke Community Center.

You'll be able to keep your bike in shape between trips to the bike shop by getting an intro to gear and brake adjustment, learning good chain maintenance.  You'll even give you bike a quick tune-up in the process.  You’ll want to bring your bike to this one!

It's brought to you by BikeKC and MoBikeFed.

For another opportunity to immerse yourself in all-things-bike, there will be another clinic on January 29th at the same place.  Dress Your Bike For Winter will address the concerns of riding through the tough winters of Kansas City.  From tools to tires and racks to packs, this class will give you the info on carrying cargo, keeping clean, warm and dry while riding through KC’s challenging winters.

10:00 AM on January 29th at the Westport-Roanoke Community Center
