2013 Missouri Trail Summit

DateTime:
10/14/2013 - 12:00am - 10/15/2013 - 12:00am

The 2013 Missouri Trail Summit will be held Monday evening, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15 in Columbia.

Missouri Trail Summit

The most exciting feature of the Summit will be the launch of the long-awaited www.visitmissouritrails.com website.

The new web site, which has the ambitious goal of providing information, maps, and trailhead directions for every trail in MIssouri, is still very much in its infancy.  But attendees will be the first to actually experience the capabilities of the site, learn how your trail information can be included, and how you can contribute to guarantee the sustainability of this great initiative!

We have a great schedule of diverse sessions to inform all trail users and managers. Lunch is included (along with a brief trail walk on a brand new jointly managed trail), and there will be very special guests joining us along the way.

The schedule and registration information is at http://www.mopark.org/trailsummit.html

A hosted reception will be held at Bass Pro Shop in Columbia to formally celebrate the American Trail award for the "Best Trails State," and the rest of the sessions will be on Tuesday at the Stoney Creek Inn.  We have rooms reserved there - mention the Missouri Trail Summit or MPRA.

Summit highlights:

  • Celebration of Missouri being named the "Best Trails State" by American Trails
  • Announcement and roll-out of the NEW Missouri Trails web site--which will include a database and easy search finder for literally every trail in Missouri.  This is going to be an amazing resource!
  • Sessions and presentations about trails issues and programs from around the state, the St. Louis City-Arch-River plan, and more
