KCStar's Mike Hendricks kicks off Bike-to-Work Week

May 17-21 is National Bike to Work Week and Friday, May 21st is Bike to Work Day. The Kansas City Star columnist Mike Hendricks is captain (or "Star Fleet Commander" as he calls it) of a team that is participating in the Bicycle Commuter Challenge:

And no longer is it just me willing to pedal to and from the office each day in hopes of winning the second annual Kansas City Bicycle Commuter Challenge.
No, I've somehow talked five co-workers into competing in this event sponsored by the Mid America Regional Council and Kansas City Corporate Challenge.
