More on Springfield's bicycle parking ordinance

A Springfield News-Leader article discusses Springfield's recent passage of a bill requiring bicycle parking at businesses:
[W]e should celebrate a bill Springfield City Council approved this week. The bill requires new commercial developments to include parking racks for bicycles. . . .

A committee is also reviewing the city's designated bicycle routes, something that may in the future be expanded.

Lentz said the city views bicycle racks as just as important as good sidewalks; both encourage more walking and bike riding.
