Missouri House Speaker Jetton to lead Katy Trail Ride in June

Missouri House Speaker and rising political star Rod Jetton will run in the St. Louis Marathon April 10th, according to an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The article also reports:

[Jetton] said he would continue preaching and living his message of fitness this summer when he and his son, Will, lead a weeklong bike ride the length of the Katy Trail. Details are pending, though Jetton said the ride tentatively was scheduled for late June. The goal is to promote tourism and fitness simultaneously, just as it is with his marathon run.

The Missouri Bicycle Federation is planning to work with Jetton's staff and give them whatever help we can in organizing and promoting the ride.

It is likely that Jetton will invite individuals and groups to bicycle with him for single days, a few days, or the entire trip.

I hope that many of you will be able to participate. We have been waiting a long time for a "bicycling politician" to show up in Missouri!
