Columbia's Low-Car Challenge kicks off Sept 1st

The 2007 version of Columbia's Low-Car Diet Challenge, sponsored by PedNet, is starting soon. According to the Columbia Tribune:
The second annual Low-Car Diet Challenge is set to kick off at 12:01 a.m. Sept. 1 and run for the entire month. The challenge encourages participants to complete all their commuting and other transportation without the use of private automobiles.

Participants are asked to keep a journal of their travel, which may include walking, bikes, wheelchairs, city buses, school buses, shuttle buses and trains. Travel by car, taxi, van or airplane is not allowed.
