Liveblogging MoBikeFed board meeting in St. Louis

The Missouri Bicycle & Pedestrian Federation board meeting and annual retreat is going on at the William A. Kerr Foundation building in St. Louis.

Here are some of the highlights--keep re-loading the page and I'll add some highlights as they happen over the weekend:

* Planning for BikeMO--our annual fall ride is going to be great again this year!

* Some good new BikeMO sponsors coming along, including THF Realty, Big Shark Bicycle Co, Pisani Painting Co., AccountingCycle, Alpine Shop, Red, White, & Green, West Central Missouri Orthopedic, and others.

* We have developed a good plan for approaching the Missouri Division of Tourism with some simple, inexpensive, but effective ways to promote bicycle tourism in Missouri.

* Bicycle Day at the Capitol on Feb 16th, 2009.

* John Sweet of the William A. Kerr Foundation and Phil Valko of TrailNet have stopped by for a while--some great discussion with both of them.

* Possible special Complete Streets Day at the Missouri Capitol to get all different organizations together in Jefferson City to talk with legislators about Complete Streets and why they are important. This could involve all kinds of organizations who support Complete Streets--like health, environmental, disabilities, bicycling, walking, community, social, planning, business, realty, aging, and other groups.

* Sunday Parkways in Ferguson -- streets closed to cars and open for bicycling, walking and fun, Aug 23rd, Sept 27th, Oct 18th, 2009. TrailNet has worked with Ferguson to develop this great program--we'd like to see Sunday Parkways programs in cities across Missouri . . .
