Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:
The Columbia City Council voted to approve the construction of a pedestrian trail connecting MU's campus to Stephens Lake Park on Monday night.
The trail will connect the Hinkson Creek Trail, MKT Trail, Katy Trail, Grindstone Creek Trail, Moon Valley Trail Connector, Hominy Creek Trail, Stephens Lake Park Trail and the planned future extension of the Hinkson Creek Trail farther north.
"This trail is one of the most important connectors for our entire trail system," Annette Triplett, executive director of the PedNet Coalition, said. "This trail is crucial to bridge the gap between all the trails that converge in this area that are not currently connected."
MoBikeFed Comment: This has been a key missing trail connection in Columbia, and has been in the works--but never *quite* completed--for many, many years.
Congrats to PedNet, to the City of Columbia, to trail supporters, and everyone involved in helping make this key trail connection a reality!
