Texting ban advances in Missouri Senate

A bill to extend Missouri's texting ban to all ages advances in the Missouri Senate.  Join us at Capitol Day on February 1st and ask your Senator to vote for it.

Missouri already has a law prohibiting motorists under 21 from texting while driving.  Senate Bill 11, sponsored by Ryan McKenna, would extend that ban to all motorists, and today it was approved by the Transportation Committee and sent to the full Senate for debate.

You can help pass the texting ban by attending Bicycle & Pedestrian Day at the Capitol on February 1st and talking to your own Senator and Representative.

House Bill 93 is a similar bill introduced in the House of Representatives, but it has yet to get a committee hearing. Seven of the eight states bordering Missouri already have all-ages texting bans (all except Oklahoma).
