More Missouri businesses (and one university) join national Bicycle Friendly list

Last week at the National Bike Summit, the League of American Bicyclists announced a new group of Bicycle Friendly Businesses and the first group of Bicycle Friendly Universities.

Joining the list of bike friendly businesses is St. Charles' 2nd Street Bike Stop Cafe at the bronze level.  Meanwhile, Kansas City's Helix Architecture and Design received an honorable mention. 

In the first-ever university awards, the University of Missouri-Kansas City scored an honorable mention.

The Bicycle Friendly America program is a highlty competitive process where cities, businesses, and now universities apply for national recognition from the League of American Bicyclists.  Consideration is given to applicants' facilities, policies, procedures, and programs that support bicycling.
