Rock Island Ramble Bicycle Ride June 22nd - Route Announcement!

The NEW Rock Island Ramble bicycle ride is coming up in just a month--Saturday, June 22nd starting at New Longview in Lee's Summit.

It's a fundraiser for MoBikeFed's statewide advocacy work and we hope you'll join us.

Today we're announcing the routes--beautiful 10, 20, 35, 65, and 100 mile fully supported routes on the roads of eastern Jackson and Cass Counties.

All the routes feature the Rock Island railroad line and the history surrounding it--and you can see where the future trail will run through the countryside, connecting the Katy Trail to the Kansas City metro area. But the routes themselves are on the scenic back roads of the area.

65 and 100 mile routes have the option of riding a mile or so on the first completed section of trail on the Rock Island corridor--and those riders also see the trailhead for the first segment of the Rock Island Trail State Park, which will officially open later this year.

Remember that you can have a full weekend of riding, Saturday and Sunday, up to 160 miles total, if you ride both the Rock Island Ramble June 22nd and the KC Rotary Ride June 23rd. Both rides are part of the Tour of Kansas City, celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year:
