Missouri Municipal Elections Tues, April 4th, 2017: Voter guide - Find your polling place, ballots, candidates, issues
Missouri's municipal elections are being held across the state on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017.
"I bicycle - I walk - I run and I vote" is one of the most powerful statements we can make to any elected leader, in our work to make Missouri a better, safer place to walk and bicycle.
So whatever your party, whoever your candidates, whatever your issues, please get out and VOTE on Tuesday, April 4th.

Finding your polling place and election rules
- Polling places are open 6am to 7pm on Election Day. You will need some form of ID. More info and FAQ about voting here.
- Find your polling place here - lists your polling place with address.
- Locate your local election authority's web site here - most local election authorities have local lists of candidates, ballot initiatives, and sample ballots.
- You can vote absentee ballot starting six weeks before the election--though you must have a reason, such as traveling on election day
Finding your local candidates, issues, sample ballots
- Vote411 will show you a sample ballot with all candidates and issues for your area. Unfortunately Vote411 works only for certain areas of Missouri--the larger metro areas.
- For other parts of the state, check your local election authority's web site for those local races & issues.
- If you live in the greater St. Louis region, the Post-Dispatch has an excellent online voter guide, giving information about all races, candidates, and issues on the ballot.

- If all else fails, you can google <your city/county name> april 2017 election to find specifics about your local candidates, issues, and ballot.
Hightlights of the April 2017 Ballot Issues
Many cities, counties, and school districts across Missouri will hold elections on bonds, capital improvement proposals, and other similar local matters.
Below are a few highlights and major issues in various Missouri cities and counties:
- Kansas City's 1-2-3 GOBond initiative will, for the first time, fully fund bicycling, walking, trails, and Complete Streets initiatives as part of their general capital improvements bonding
- St. Louis City's Proposition #1 is designed to fund North/South Metrolink, neighborhood revitalization, workforce development; public safety, and to upgrade the city's infrastructure
