Advocacy groups meet with MODOT Director Pete Rahn
Submitted by Brent Hugh on Mon, 04/11/2005 - 7:16am
MoBikeFed President Brent Hugh, with MoBikeFed Board Members Paul Wojciechowski and Coy Hart, Fred Schmidt of PedNet, and Bob Foster of the St. Louis Regional Bicycle Federation, met with MoDOT Director Pete Rahn today.
The hour-long meeting was lively. Rahn seemed interested in our message and had a number of questions.
The delegation gave a presentation about the value of bicycling and walking to Missouri, including facts, figures, and statistics about bicycling and walking in Missouri, reasons to support bicycling and walking, state law with regard to bicycling and walking, and federal requirements for bicycle and pedestrian accommodation.
The powerpoint presentation from the meeting can be downloaded here (3.8meg)--it is a useful summary of bicycle- and pedestrian-related facts and information.
