Director Pete Rahn leaving MoDOT

Breaking news: The Kansas City Star reports that Missouri Department of Transportation Director Pete Rahn is leaving MoDOT to take a job with Kansas City's HNTB engineering firm.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will name an interim director while conducting a national search for a permanent replacement.

The Missouri Bicycle and Pedestrian Federation will work to encourage the governor-appointed commission to select a MoDOT Director who recognizes the importance bicycling, walking, and public transit in the state's transportation system.
