Reminder: MoDOT will sweep streets/shoulders/bike lanes on request
Submitted by Brent Hugh on Wed, 02/08/2006 - 5:25am
A reminder that is very appropriate for this time of year:
For MoDOT roads--which include all numbered state or federal highway as well the lettered routes--that have debris in the lanes or on the shoulders you can call MoDOT to request a street sweeping.
And what do you know, they will really do it!
MoBikeFed strongly encourages bicyclists to do call MoDOT and ask for road and shoulder cleanings when necessary. Not only does it keep the roadways cleaner and safer, it helps to increase MODOT's awareness of the number of bicyclists out there when we call regularly to ask for maintenance.
Dial 1-888-ASK-MODOT or visit MoDOT's online web comment form.
They will want to know the city or general area and a description of the road and location. Ask for street cleaning and mention that it is because you BICYCLE there.
