And thanks to you all who took the time to contact the Governor during the recent kerfluffle over funding for the Tour this year.
I'm hearing that the size of the citizen response really surprised everyone.
Bipartisan support for Tour of MissouriIt is easy to praise Lt Gov Kinder for his work with the Tour--because he really has taken it under his wing and made it a successful event.
It was great to see Gov. Jay Nixon and Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, politicians from two different parties, work together for the good of the state by getting the Tour of Missouri back on track.
Over the past four years, Lt. Gov. Kinder has done a remarkable job galvanizing support for the Tour of Missouri and turning it from a good idea into one of the top two professional bicycle races in the U.S.— one that will attract both the best American athletes and the top international teams currently racing in the Tour de France.
The crowds at the Tour have shown that Missouri’s 2 million bicyclists have been looking for an event like this. It’s a great sporting event in its own right and has brought together support — from all parts of the state and all political parties — for making the changes we need to make Missouri a really great place to bicycle.

Because that says a lot about where the bicycling movement in Missouri is going--up!
