MoBikeFed Volunteers Needed: Data Entry

MoBikeFed seeks a data entry volunteer to help with occasional data entry projects.

Generally we send you the forms or data as scanned PDF files and you return the information typed into pre-formatted Excel spreadsheets we will give you.

The projects generally require one to a few hours time, facility and keyboarding and data entry, attention to detail, and the ability to decipher people's handwritten responses.

Examples:

  • (Current project) We have about 200 one-page survey forms that need to be entered into an Excel spreadsheet. You enter a numeric code for multiple choice responses and type in brief free-form responses.  These could be entered in 4-10 hours by a fast data entry person and you would have 2-3 weeks to complete the task.
  • (Possible future projects) We occasionally have surveys, petitions, or response sheets that need to be entered into an Excel spreadsheet. Projects may involve 50-500 entries and may take 2-20 hours.  You would always have a reasonable time period to complete the work, and the option of doing only a portion of the work if that meets your schedule and time availibility.

Depending on your interest and the amount of time available, you could do just one project or several over the course of several months to a year.

Volunteers receive:

  • Our undying gratitude and a feeling of accomplishment for helping the statewide bicycle and pedestrian federation move our mission forward in an important way.
  • Volunteer credit and thanks for a contribution just as important as cash contributions to the Federation (hours you spend doing data entry are staff time and dollars directly saved).
  • The possibility of earning your annual MoBikeFed membership--when you volunteer 10 hours or more over the course of three months.
