Municipal elections Mar 5th & Apr 2nd: Trailnet sponsors "Great Candidate Race" Feb 20th

Municipal elections are happening in many cities and counties across Missouri March 5th and April 2nd (find election information, sample ballots, and more here).  Trailnet and the Livable St. Louis Network are planning The Amazing Candidate Race February 20th to help voters meet candidates and help candidates get to know the issues and their importance:

Trailnet and the Livable St. Louis Network will host The Amazing Candidate Race, a forum for candidates in the 5th, 6th, and 15th Wards and mayoral race, on February 20, 2012, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Contemporary Art Museum.

The Amazing Candidate Race will feature a lively discussion about the future of St. Louis that will test candidate knowledge, showcase their talents, and get down to the nitty gritty of what it will take to put St. Louis on the list of most livable US cities.

All candidates for 5th, 6th, and 15th Wards and mayoral races were invited. The following have confirmed: (ballot order)

Mayoral Race – Francis Slay, Jimmie Matthews, Lewis Reed

5th Ward – Michelle Hutchings-Medina

6th Ward – Christine Ingrassia, Michelle Witthaus

15th Ward – Jennifer Florida, Lisa Miller

“This event will be unlike any candidate forum St. Louis has ever seen – come join the fun and experience a whole new side of the political process,” says Rhonda Smythe, Trailnet’s Policy & Advocacy Manager. Visit www.trailnet.org/advocacy for more details.
