"It's really bad," said Peggy Whetzel, a St. Charles County resident.

"It is the hardest place to see on this whole road, whether there's people in the crosswalk or not."

Whetzel, and others, believe the main problem is the parking spots on either side of the crosswalk.

MoBikeFed comment: It is interesting to see media jumping on dangerous crosswalks and pedestrian crossings as an issue. These terrible crosswalks and streets crossings have been in places for decades, but they have never before received any attention.

FWIW St. Charles is currently the largest Missouri city lacking a Complete Streets policy. Perhaps the city needs to address not just this one example, but the walkability and bicycleability of the city as a whole in a comprehensive way.
