Biking/Walking Holidays Bill still in play as legislative session nears end

Rep. Will Kraus
Rep. Will Kraus
The bill to add Bicycle Month, Bike to Work Week, and Walk/Bike to School Month/Week/Day to Missouri's holiday calendar is still in play, even with Missouri's legislative session set to end Friday.

The House passed the bill (consent) in mid-March.  The Senate passed the bill in mid-April--however with minor changes to the legislative language and with several different holidays (previously found in a different bill) added.

Now the bill has been sent to Conference Committee.

That is good news--if the Conference Committee can hammer out the differences in the language and a technical issue or two that has come up, there is still time for both House & Senate to pass the final version.

How can you help?

Both are big supporters of the bill and bicycling in Missouri, but it always helps encourage them when they hear a few words of thanks from citizens.
